Adopt a Living Legend
Every year the wild horse population is culled and the horses are available for adoption to the deserving
public. Even if you can not adopt at this time, the event is a unique and educational, and well worth the
drive out to Tooele.
The 2007 event will be held on Oct 20 at The Salt Lake Wild Horse and Burro Center (8605 W 12600 S)
in Herriman. Silent bidding begins at 9am. Sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the workshop
offers intruction on gentling techniques and the opportunity for hands-on experience in capturing a wild
horse or burro.
Approximately ten professional trainers from across the country will teach "hands on" wild horse gentling and
training techniques, seminars on nutrition, safety, halter tying and first aid.
On October 20, the BLM will host a wild horse and burro adoption where several of the approximately 75 wild
horses and 15 wild burros will have received some hands-on gentling during the week-long workshop.
This is your opportunity to get a wild horse for as little as $125.00.
